Hi, I am Simon. I am a Dutch writer of speculative and science-fantasy fiction. My work focuses on the collision between nature and technology, ordinary people facing system-sized problems, and the stubborn hope that survives both. My debut novel, Gaia’s Wrath: Echoes of the Mammoth Trees, introduces a bioluminescent jungle world where memory lives in roots and resistance grows like vines; the sequel, The Aurora Veil, is in development.
In parallel, I am working on Abysspunk, a dual-timeline project that connects a flooded future to the choices that broke it, told through working-class protagonists, engineered infrastructures, and the costs of “progress.”

I come from a water-science and management background, so my worlds love systems—rivers, cities, power—and the rebels who push back. When I’m not writing, I’m a big fan of playing football, gaming, and fitness.
